I have tried three different ones from Amazon, and they wouldn’t even give me an output signal. The best solution in this case is an HDMI audio extractor that I can use to feed my DAC via TosLink.

I almost always feed my RME ADI-2 FS DAC via a USB adapter from my iPhone 11 Pro Max, but I would also like to feed it via my computer. It works absolutely perfect for having two spots to use my computer in. In my den, I have an HDMI cable running through the walls to my monitor and then I also have a wireless gaming mouse and keyboard.
